DAY 21 APRIL 14
| Somewhere in Russia...But Not Isolation |
Today is my first complete day of isolation. Only nurses and cleaners are allowed in while wearing masks. They bring my meals and clean daily. Also change clothes daily and vodka bath. Not like a prison where they just are sliding food through a slotted door. I am not a caged animal!
Lynnette was able to drop off a few items. Bananas and meat sticks with some bread. Nice to have in case a meal falls flat. I eat a lot of food surprisingly. I have never been on steroids for any length of time so I don't really know what to expect.
I still don't have any desire for sweets or dairy though. Lots of other patients like sweets. They say it helps. The thing that sounds the best to me would be a big bowl of tortilla chips with a fresh bowl of delicious guacamole! Going to be a while before that happens.
The other weird thing are my dreams! They are all over the place. Last night I was somewhere wondering around San Francisco all upset that I had messed up my treatment. Bizarre! Luckily when I woke up I was in my room. That was a relief!
My numbers are doing well. Dr. Fedorenko comes in each day and reviews the progress. I try not to over think that part. Fluctuations are normal and part of the treatment. They adjust and press on!

ReplyDeleteI am still waiting for you to jump on the ice cream ban wagon. I am with you though, chips and guacamole sounds really good. Top it off with an ice cold Diet Coke. Keep up the good work. You can always sing to yourself. Love you little brother. So proud of you.
ReplyDeleteJust thinking I would be tempted with that Vodka๐
ReplyDeleteOff to SF tomorrow so hope to see you in a few weeks and we can share the chips and guacamole.๐
So the picture of the food - is that green mass seaweed? Just judging by the food photos, I imagine all Russians being very skinny.
ReplyDeleteHi Paul, as you have probably guessed, I am infatuated with your diary! I am so happy that you included me on this list! I wish more people would consider going outside of the United States for treatments of chronic or life threatening diseases. You and Lynette are my hero's! Like everyone, I am praying for your healing and reverse this monster that plagues so many. I'm also enjoying the tour of the amazing architecture there, thanks Lynette, I am traveling to Russia by proxy :)
