DAY 4 March 28

So it is Thursday morning and I am going to attempt the pictures. My niece Andy walked me through it and we'll see how I do. I hope it is efficient because I hate following this stuff.

View from Hotel Window
Hotel Lobby-Looks like just another Southwest overnight. Funny because growing up I had a Russian neighbor and I can see where she got her decorating from
Front of Hospital Building...It is actually a huge complex. Very clean and nice
Dinner the first night. Some kind of beef stew over cracked grain. Tasted good. And beet soup. Not a big beet fan but I downed it. Meals have more of a home cooked feel to them than the US hospitals

Breakfast! Not really food pairing of my choice. Oatmeal was delicious...passed on the hotdog
Told to collect stool sample. I was very concerned with how this would go...

Then I realized it might be easier with the little spoon
Dinner Group. All from the Netherlands except us. Actually Dr. Fedorenko is in the back middle
I have no idea the name of the restaurant. Lots of fun though

Not much happened today. Last night I met a few more patients here. Everyone is in a different phase. This evening they had a celebration for the people that will enter isolation. So they have finished the harvesting and chemo and will now receive "their new life" stem cell re-transplantation. This doesn't really make sense to me yet because it seems like they should be in isolation after the chemo. Not sure on that. There were three patients in this phase. John from England. Frank from Norway and a lady that I did not met.

The next wave is Angelica from Livermore, CA, Rebecca from Australia, Susanna from Sweden, another girl from Australia, Timo from Finland, and another girl from Iran. They all got their heads shaved today in preparation for chemo. Kind of amusing. We are all like the toys at Sid's house in Toy Story. Messed up. All great people and in great spirits though.

Went to dinner with Johan, Annamieke, and Pip from the Netherlands again tonight. Not sure what it makes me when the Dutch buy my dinner? A pilot?
